Former UFC fighter Molly McCann made an explosive start in her professional boxing career! On September 13, at the vibrant Windsor Park in Belfast, McCann won her debut boxing match with a powerful sixth-round stoppage over Kate Radomska. This thrilling fight was part of the undercard for the exciting world title rematch between Paddy Donovan and Lewis Crocker. McCann, who shifted from mixed martial arts to boxing earlier this year, showed her boxing skills right from the first bell. The fighter, who was previously an amateur boxer, has stated a big goal: to win a world boxing title within just eight pro fights! The match wasn't without drama—a surprising moment came in the second round when Radomska kicked McCann illegally. However, the referee missed it and no penalty was given. True to her spirit, McCann kept fighting hard! She knocked down her Irish opponent in the fifth round and then brilliantly finished the fight with a stoppage in the sixth. After the fight, McCann opened up about the illegal kick and her feelings: "It's been a brilliant week; I've had fun and learned valuable lessons. I had to relax a little, I've gone 18 months without a win so there was pressure on me. But in every round I started to relax and sit down on my shots. It's getting used to being a pro and not elbowing and kicking... I took a little kick in there and I could have got a stoppage earlier." Talking about her transition from MMA to boxing, she remarked, "The cheeky.... but I'm here to honour the Queensberry rules and fight boxing, I left that a couple of months ago. I'd like to get out as quick as possible and keep learning. It's a lot nicer [than MMA], taking the shots is not as bad as getting done with knees and kicks and chokes." Molly McCann is clearly loving her new path and remains focused, saying, "I started to believe in my shots and trying to be like Tony Bellew! All I can do is watch it back, apply it to my training, be faster and get my feet going." The main boxing event that night was the gripping fight between Paddy Donovan and Lewis Crocker, streamed live on DAZN. Fans saw Lewis Crocker beat Paddy Donovan in a tough contest that lit up the night!
