Hold your breath, political fans! The Karnataka High Court has dropped a bombshell on the 2023 Assembly elections. The court has set aside the victory of Congress MLA K.Y. Nanjegowda from the Malur constituency in Kolar district. Why? Because of alleged counting errors! A fierce election petition was filed by BJP's K.S. Manjunath Gowda, who lost to Nanjegowda. He claimed the votes were not counted properly. Justice R. Devadas led the bench that listened to this case for almost two years. The court decided the votes need a careful recount and that Nanjegowda's election win can’t stand as it is. But here’s the twist — the court agreed to pause its own order for 30 days after Nanjegowda’s lawyer asked for more time. This pause is a lifeline, giving the Congress MLA a chance to take his case to the Supreme Court. If the Supreme Court doesn’t step in within these 30 days, Nanjegowda's seat in the Assembly will be declared vacant. So, stay tuned! Will the Congress hold on, or will the BJP's challenge change the game? The political drama in Karnataka just got spicier!
