Drama Unfolds! Russian Embassy Helped Viktoriia Basu Flee India with Child Against Supreme Court Orders

NEW DELHI: Hold your breath! The Delhi Police has spilled the beans on a jaw-dropping escape plan involving the Russian embassy. They told the Supreme Court that Arthur Gerbst, the counsellor and head of the consular division there, played a big role in helping Viktoriia Basu flee India without permission. Viktoriia tried to take her son, born from her marriage to an Indian, out of the country illegally. Here’s how the daring drama unfolded: Gerbst arranged a taxi to take Viktoriia and her child from somewhere in India to Narkatiaganj in Bihar. From there, Viktoriia crossed over to Kathmandu with the help of a man named Sameer Ansari, also called Munna. Delhi Police also revealed that another Russian based in Kathmandu helped Viktoriia get into the Nepal capital in early July. Then she caught a flight to Sharjah in the UAE, and finally took off for Moscow! This has caused a big stir at the Supreme Court. An SC bench led by Justice Surya Kant was furious, because Viktoriia had snatched the child away in clear violation of SC orders. The Indian embassy was pushed to start action to bring Viktoriia and her son back to Delhi. In a report from Additional Solicitor General Aishwarya Bhati, the police added spicy details: Gerbst had first asked one Vivian Sehgal to arrange a taxi to Sanauli in Uttar Pradesh. Later, he told to arrange transport to Narkatiaganj, which Sehgal booked through KTC (India) Ltd. And guess what? Gerbst paid Rs 75,000 in cash for these taxis! Once in Narkatiaganj, Sameer Ansari took over, helping Viktoriia sneak across the India-Nepal border. The police have also sent a notice to Air Arabia, the airline she flew with to Sharjah. They are digging deep to find who booked the tickets and how the payments were made, trying to trace the digital money trail that helped this illegal exit. The Delhi Police is not stopping here. They are chasing an Interpol blue corner notice against Viktoriia actively. They have asked all agencies to act fast on any clue about the woman and her child’s whereabouts. This tangled web involving consular help, secret taxis, border crossings, and international flights reveals that the drama is far from over. Stay tuned as the chase continues!
