Kannada actress Risha Gowda, known for her role in Crazy Keerthy, recently shot her new film in Mysuru. In a lively chat, she shared her thoughts on important film industry issues. "AUDIENCES NOW WANT FRESH, CONTENT-HEAVY FILMS," she said, pointing out the success of the film Su from Su. "Without big promotions, the film ran successfully and became the talk of the town. That shows good content always wins. Directors must move away from routine love stories and bring freshness — that’s what audiences want," Risha explained. She is thrilled to see strong roles written for women but notes that many actresses avoid bold characters. "If I ever get offered a role like Chaitra J Achar’s in Sapta Sagaradaache Ello – Part B, I’d say yes to it in a heartbeat," she added. Risha also highlighted the money gap between Kannada and Telugu industries. "For the money you earn from working in one Telugu film, you would need to work in at least three Kannada ones. That’s the harsh reality. The Telugu industry also offers more visibility and options," the actress revealed. She said this pay difference causes many actors to move to Telugu cinema. "Even Kannada TV actors are being picked for Telugu shows because of the better pay and wider reach," she said. Risha Gowda’s frank talk sheds light on the struggles and hopes for Kannada cinema’s future.
