Mumbai witnessed a thrilling crime drama straight out of a thriller! A day after businessman Ayub Sayyad was found knifed to death at his glass tempering unit in Charkop, police cracked the case wide open. Arrests include none other than his younger son Hamid Sayyad, his business partner Shanu Chaudhary, 40, and an alleged contract killer, Khairul Ali, 27. What sparked this bloody showdown? Police say Ayub and Chaudhary were caught in a fierce financial dispute. The tension turned deadly when Chaudhary reportedly offered Rs 6.5 lakh as a 'supari'—a contract kill payment—to Khairul Ali. Ayub, who lived with his wife near Malad Link Road, ran the glass tempering unit at the Charkop industrial estate. Though his unit had shut down last month, Ayub handled rent deals. His elder son, Habib, revealed these facts while speaking to the police. On September 21, a chilling call from Ayub’s employee reached Habib’s family, telling them of Ayub’s murder. When Habib rushed to the industrial unit, a crowd had already gathered. Two employees shared how Ayub called them for a meeting at 11:30 am, only for them to discover his lifeless body on opening the office door. Police investigations, led by DCP Sandeep Jadhav, uncovered Hanif Sayyad’s involvement too. Hanif helped Chaudhary in carrying out the crime. Authorities found the murder weapon—a knife—used in the brutal act. With Chaudhary, Khairul Ali, and Hamid Sayyad behind bars on murder charges, the case exposes a dark underbelly where money and betrayal collided in a deadly drama. How much more will Mumbai’s business world hide beneath the surface?
