In a fiery start to his campaign in Tamil Nadu's western Kongu region, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay fired sharp arrows at both the ruling DMK and the main opposition AIADMK. Launching a strong attack, he declared that voting for the DMK in the 2026 Assembly election is actually a vote for the BJP. "The DMK family has underground dealings with the BJP," Vijay claimed boldly, adding that "a vote for DMK is a vote for the BJP." The TVK leader made it clear that his party will never make any deals with what he called the "fascist BJP regime." Vijay also took a hard stand against AIADMK, accusing them of throwing away the ideals of their late party leader, J Jayalalithaa. Despite "often chanting Amma’s name," he said AIADMK has made a very "inappropriate and opportunistic" alliance with the BJP. This, he argued, is neither suitable nor truly for the welfare of Tamil Nadu. "The TVK will not replicate such a political stand," Vijay emphasized, refusing to follow the same path. To hit the point home, he questioned, "What has the BJP government done for Tamil Nadu?" This tough question aimed to make voters think twice before supporting parties linked with the BJP. Vijay’s speech rang loud and clear: Tamil Nadu must watch out for hidden ties and stay true to its values in the 2026 election fight.
