Oh, what a weekend in the Premier League! For the first time this season, Liverpool's perfect run hit a roadblock. Crystal Palace snatched a shocking 2-1 win with a last gasp goal in the eighth minute of added time! Ismaila Sarr kicked off the drama early, smashing in the opener for Palace. Liverpool's goalie Alisson tried his best, but Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta almost scored again, hitting the post. Liverpool fought back with Federico Chiesa equalizing in the 87th minute, but then—drama! Substitute Eddie Nketiah scored the winner in the 97th minute, sending Selhurst Park into celebrations after VAR cleared him of offside. Nketiah said to the BBC, "The boys are in really good form and think we can win every game and today we showed that." This win pushed Palace to second in the table, just three points behind Liverpool. Meanwhile, in Manchester, City didn't hold back. Manchester City crushed Burnley 5-1 – thanks to two own goals by Burnley’s Maxime Esteve (who dropped a rare double!), a sharp strike from Matheus Nunes, and a late double from Erling Haaland. Haaland’s goals in the final minutes sealed Burnley’s biggest loss of the season. Back in West London, Manchester United faced a rude welcome at Brentford. Despite a warm return for former Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo, Man Utd lost 3-1. Brentford’s Igor Thiago scored twice early on after taking advantage of the high defensive line from United. Although Benjamin Sesko pulled back one for United, Mathias Jensen’s thunderbolt in added time dashed any hopes of a comeback. United’s coach Ruben Amorim was disappointed, saying, "We didn't control the game, we played the game of Brentford. We were really confused (on) second balls, first balls, set pieces. The crucial moments, they were against us. Tough to lose again." Chelsea also faced heartbreak at Stamford Bridge. Trevoh Chalobah got a red card—his second in as many league games—for stopping Brighton’s goal chance. Enzo Fernandez gave Chelsea hope with a close header, but Brighton fought back hard. Danny Welbeck equalized, and then Brighton’s Maxim De Cuyper and Welbeck struck late in stoppage time to seal a 3-1 win, much to the despair of home fans. Leeds United had their own drama as Bournemouth’s young star Eli Junior Kroupi volleyed an added-time goal to secure a 2-2 draw. Leeds had taken the lead through Joe Rodon and Sean Longstaff but just when it looked like they would win, Bournemouth pulled them back. It’s a Premier League rollercoaster for sure, with big shocks and thrilling football! Coming up next, Nottingham Forest hosts Sunderland, and Tottenham Hotspur welcome bottom club Wolverhampton Wanderers, still thirsty for their first point this season. Stay tuned as the drama unfolds!
