Patna is buzzing as Bihar’s big election fight heats up! The NDA government is busy announcing schemes for women and other groups, but the real action is on the INDIA bloc’s side. They are sharpening their weapons, aiming straight at the heart of more than half Bihar’s voters — the Extremely Backward Classes (EBCs) and Scheduled Castes (SCs). EBCs make up a whopping 36% of Bihar’s voters, while SCs add another 20%. Put them together, and they control over 56% of the vote! Sensing this power, the INDIA bloc rolled out the Ati Pichda Niyan Sankalp, a special manifesto on September 24 just for the EBCs. The big promise? Expanding reservation quotas across categories to uplift these communities. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi upped the ante during his recent Bihar trips. He boldly declared a plan to smash the Supreme Court’s 50% reservation ceiling. Talk about shaking the status quo! Meanwhile, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) head Tejashwi Yadav has been on a whirlwind outreach spree. He hosted two Samvad meetings in just two days, focusing entirely on SC and EBC voters. On Friday, he met social activists representing these groups and shared the opposition’s strong agenda. On Saturday, at the Karpoori Ati Pichda Samvad in Patna, he hit out at the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government, saying the EBCs had suffered "misgovernance and neglect" for over twenty long years. His fiery words? "Extremely Backward will no longer be a vote bank but a power bank. Extremely Backward will no longer only form governments - they will form their own government," Yadav declared, promising a new dawn for EBCs. With both sides gearing up, Bihar’s elections promise drama, passion, and a battle for the heart of the state’s biggest voter groups. Will the INDIA bloc’s magic tricks turn the tide or will NDA's promises win the day? Stay tuned!
