Margao – Goa’s Agriculture Minister Ravi Naik will be remembered as a fearless protector of the state's farming soul! With fiery passion, Naik pushed for reforms that kept Goa’s agriculture alive and kicking, making sure farmers get fair income and their lands stay safe. Naik always raised a powerful alarm about Goa turning into a "concrete jungle," warning, "Outsiders are coming into Goa in droves to buy our land, including agricultural fields. We should protect our land for posterity." He believed urbanisation and outside pressure could kill Goa’s farming spirit and way of life. The shining crown on Naik’s achievements is Goa’s very first agriculture policy—a smart, carefully crafted plan he proudly led. This was no rush job; the government held a whopping 189 meetings, gathered 3,700 suggestions, and listened closely to every panchayat in Goa. "We brought the agriculture policy to double the income of farmers," Naik declared with confidence. "With this policy, maximum agricultural land would be saved from being converted." His vision was clear: keep Goa’s farmland thriving, sustainable, and profitable so it remains the heart of the local economy and community welfare. Naik’s efforts remind us how precious agricultural land is and why protecting it keeps Goa’s colors bright and its people prosperous. This is no ordinary policy—it’s a farmer’s shield in a fast-changing world!
