Get ready for some fresh horse racing action! On Monday, October 27, the champion horse Sovereign King was in great spirits as it exercised early in the morning. The inner sand track buzzed with excitement as many eager two- and three-year-olds showed their mettle. In the 600 meters dash, young stars like Lempika (ridden by Akram), Dali, and Starlet (both with jockey Ramswarup) ran side by side, finishing perfectly level at 40 seconds. It was a thrilling sight to watch these fledgling talents neck and neck! Next up, the 800 meters race was a fiery battle. Red Mist (jockey Nirmal) and Escape Velocity (Akram) raced neck and neck, clocking in at 50 seconds, while Red Merlot (Mustakim) made a strong showing with a 600m time of 37 seconds. Young horses Antino (Ramswarup) and Top Class/Wilderness (Nirmal) also finished evenly, showing great promise at 55 seconds over 600 meters. Moving on to longer distances, Encino (Santosh) completed 1000 meters easily in 1 minute 11 seconds. Hilma Klint (Mustakim) was pushed hard in the final stretch, finishing in 1:08 (800m) and 40 seconds (600m). Medusa (Merchant) and Doctor Dolly (Zameer) followed closely, with Doctor Dolly being pressed hard toward the end. A fine contest unfolded at 1200 meters, where Wings Of Fury (Ramswarup) worked freely and finished in a sharp 1 minute 23 seconds. The 1400 meters was the highlight as Sovereign King (Ramswarup) started three lengths behind the leader Arrived (Nirmal) but showed bursts of speed to catch up and finish level in 1 minute 34 seconds. Gate practice was exciting too! Three-year-olds Arazan and Eminence Grise (Santosh) jumped out well in the 1000 meters. While Arazan was urged strongly to keep pace, Amadeo (Ramswarup) hesitated and didn’t join the run. Two-year-olds Staria (Nirmal) and Powerofattitude (C.S. Jodha) tackled the gates confidently, finishing level and ready for bigger races. All in all, it was a morning packed with energy and sheer horse power. Trainers and jockeys must be proud as their horses showed what they are capable of. Can't wait for the next race to see these galloping heroes in action!
