Written by Yashaswi Kochar Get ready, Amdavadis! Halloween is here and the city is full of spooky excitement. Neon lights, eerie costume parades, and pumpkin spices fill the air. This night is all about fun mixed with fright, as ghosts, witches, and ghouls swap haunted houses for lively dance floors. “Exciting themes, experimental menus are on offer” People are heading to the coolest Halloween parties today. Pooja Shah, a party organiser, shares, “We have designed zones for everyone: a mini monster area for the little ones, interactive games for families, and a livelier space for grown-ups to unwind.” Ahmedabad is changing fast. Parth Pandya, organizing a fitness-themed party, says, “Ahmedabad is truly evolving— it’s no longer just about partying or dressing up but about doing something unique. Our theme this year is ‘fit or trick’— a spooky fitness party where Halloween meets high-energy workouts. It’s about movement, music, and madness. We’ve added spooky lighting, themed zones, and even a few fitness ‘tricks’ to make the experience unique.” Food lovers are not left out! Harshil Daxini promises “dark, delicious, and dangerously fun” treats. He says, “Expect coffin corners, flickering candles, Gothic photo ops, and immersive performances. Costumes range from avant-garde to Addams-core. Our menu is experimental — smoky dishes, hauntingly named mocktails, and drinks that double as potions. There will also be live acts, surprise sets, and spontaneous performance art. We’re expecting around 250 souls — from cosplayers and designers to filmmakers, dancers, and curious outsiders. The night will feel like a live art piece — there’s something for every kind of energy. Whether you’re performing, observing, or just sipping a cursed mocktail, you’re part of the story.” Why is the trend growing? Halloween is now a big deal in Ahmedabad! Pooja explains, “The whole setup is going to feel like stepping into a storybook— dramatic décor, themed food and drinks, costume parades, and live acts that’ll keep the energy high. We’ve paid attention to the smallest details so that every corner feels Instagram-worthy and full of heart.” What started as small house parties is now a city-wide celebration happening in clubs, open-air venues, and creative spaces. Jhanvi Shah adds, “It’s growing very slowly, since the culture here is mostly about house parties and small scenes. Besides music, what makes our party stand out are the sticker stalls, face painting and glow bars to show the spirit of Halloween.” “It’s the music that truly casts a spell” For some, music is the magic. Halloween fan Satyajeet Nikaljet says, “For me, it’s the music— acid house, deep house and techno— newer crowds are being exposed to such niche genres now. Watching people getting affected by such songs is probably the best part of any event for me. Also, gigs with an open-air setting make the sunset and nighttime feel special.” Halloween bites and brews Here are some spooky treats you can munch on: - Mummy veg rolls: Crispy filo-wrapped veggie rolls bandaged like mummies, served with a bloody beetroot dip - Pumpkin mac ‘n’ cheese cauldrons: Mini pots of creamy pumpkin-infused macaroni topped with toasted breadcrumbs - Ghostly paneer pops: Skewered paneer balls shaped like tiny ghosts, with smoky chipotle drizzle - Witch’s finger fries: Crunchy herb fries carved into creepy finger shapes with almond nails - Creepy cauldron mocktail: A black grape and mint fizz with dry ice for a smoky, potion-like effect This Halloween, Ahmedabad shines with its spooky parties, thrilling music, and mouth-watering themed snacks. Are you ready to join the haunted fun and make it a spooky night to remember?
