Pre-Monsoon Rainfall in Goa Lowers Temperatures, IMD Forecasts More Rain

Goa experienced moderate to heavy pre-monsoon rainfall, bringing relief from the heat. Maximum temperatures in Panaji and Mormugao were recorded at 29.8°C and 28.6°C, respectively. Several areas received over 100mm of rainfall within 24 hours. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts more rain in the next 48 hours, with temperatures staying around 28°C and 25°C. An orange alert has been issued for May 23, warning of moderate to heavy rainfall and thunderstorms with strong winds. Fisherfolk are advised against venturing into the sea, and residents are urged to take precautions in flood-prone areas. Squally weather is expected to continue until May 25.
