A powerful blast near the Red Fort in Delhi on Monday evening shook the city and took the lives of at least nine people. The explosion caused panic and damaged vehicles around. In the chaos, authorities quickly stepped in and shared helpline numbers for those needing urgent help. Residents can call Delhi Police’s emergency number 112 for quick assistance. For hospital updates, LNJP Hospital’s main line (011-23233400) and emergency line (011-23239249) are ready to provide patient information. The Delhi Police Control Room is also available at 011-22910010 and 011-22910011. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta expressed deep sorrow for the tragedy and urged citizens to stay calm, avoid rumors, and trust only official news. "I pray to God that the injured recover swiftly," she said on X. She personally visited LNJP Hospital with Delhi Home Minister Ashish Sood to check on those hurt. Gupta called the blast "extremely distressing and alarming" and announced that Delhi Police, NSG, NIA, and FSL teams are investigating the case thoroughly. The blast seems linked to terror activities. In the last 24 hours, several arrests were made: a Gujarat doctor caught with handguns and bioweapon materials, and two doctors from Jammu and Kashmir found with explosives and weapons. One was arrested for promoting the terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed. The day’s terror suspicion grew as the blast near Red Fort shattered windows and led to heavy damages. Police detained the car owner, Md Salman from Gurugram, whose vehicle was used in the blast. Salman had sold his Hyundai i20 car with Haryana number plate 'HR 26 7674' earlier this year. The car changed hands multiple times, a tactic often used by terror groups for suicide vehicle bombs. Investigations revealed fake IDs and connections to Pulwama, hinting at a terror link. A senior police officer said, “Delhi Police along with Gurugram police detained Md Salman on Monday and is questioning him about the car. He had sold it to a person in Okhla named Devendra. Later, the vehicle was again sold to someone in Ambala and police are tracing the people.” The case is developing fast as authorities try to uncover the full terror network behind this shocking Red Fort blast.
