Farmer Demands CBI Probe Into Medical College Irregularities Under Former CM Palaniswami
November 16, 2025
Chennai is buzzing with a new twist in a political drama! A farmer, N Rajasekaran from Tiruvarur, has made a bold move. He is asking the Madras High Court to order a CBI probe into alleged irregularities in building 11 medical colleges during the AIADMK regime. These colleges were built when Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS) was the Chief Minister and also handled the public works department (PWD).
Rajasekaran first raised his voice on July 7, 2021. He claimed the colleges and hospitals did not meet the rules set by the National Medical Commission (NMC). He pointed out several irregularities during their construction. However, even after four years, no strong action was taken. So, he went to the Madras High Court for justice.
The court told the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) to start a preliminary check. A detailed inquiry began on April 10, 2023, but it is still going on without any clear results. The farmer said, "In spite of the submissions made to the HC and directions, no effective action has been taken by DVAC to date. The inquiry has not resulted in any concrete outcome or prosecution, thereby defeating the very purpose of my earlier writ petition."
Frustrated by the delay and inaction, Rajasekaran filed a new petition. He wants the court to scrap a government order that stopped consent for CBI and other central agencies to investigate this case. He desperately hopes the court will allow a full CBI investigation now.
The matter is heating up, and a bench led by the Chief Justice is expected to hear the plea in the coming week. Will the court finally shake up the case and bring truth to light? Stay tuned as this story unfolds!
