KDMC Unveils KD SWIFT: Maharashtra’s First One-Window Online Building Permission System to End Illegal Constructions!
November 18, 2025
KALYAN is buzzing with a powerful new change! After the shocking scandal of 65 illegal buildings, the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) rolled out a stunning digital game-changer: KD SWIFT, Maharashtra’s first-ever one-window online system for building permissions. This dazzling platform was inaugurated by municipal commissioner Abhinav Goel, who is on a mission to wipe out confusion and corruption.
No more running around offices! This tech wizard, KD SWIFT, bundles all approvals – from fire safety, water supply, drainage, property tax to the tree authority – into one neat online service. Mr. Goel brightly said the goal is to "simplify procedures, speed up approvals, and curb malpractice." And here’s the real magic – all departments now must finish applications within 28 days, making KDMC the first in the state to brag such an integrated and accountable digital system.
Before KD SWIFT, acquiring building permissions meant a tiring trip through many departments, facing delays and messy paperwork. But this new marvel cleverly sends applications straight to the right department based on documents submitted. Plus, users can watch their application live—talk about transparency!
To battle fraud, KDMC added a smart shield: QR-coded certificates. Anyone can scan these to instantly check if approvals are real. This protects buyers and the civic body from fake papers, a big step to prevent scandals like the recent illegal constructions.
The brainpower behind KD SWIFT includes the state Building Plan Management System (BPMS) team, passionate architects, MCHI, and officials like assistant director of town planning Santosh Doifode and town planner Surendra Tengale. They’ve seamlessly linked KD SWIFT with BPMS, allowing users to apply, pay, upload, and download all digitally.
KDMC’s bold move isn’t just about tech—it’s about trust, transparency, and taming urban chaos. With KD SWIFT, the city hopes to shut the door on illegal buildings and set a gold standard in Maharashtra’s urban governance. Isn’t it time cities got smarter and cleaner? Kalyan sure is taking the lead!
