Miracle in Bangkok: Newborn Baby Found Alive in Toilet Tank Sparks Urgent Police Hunt
November 20, 2025
In a shocking scene straight out of a thriller, a tiny newborn baby was found alive inside a toilet tank in an office building in Bangkok’s Lat Krabang district! The dramatic rescue unfolded on Saturday, November 15, when a cleaner working on the third floor heard faint baby cries coming from a restroom.
Curious and concerned, the cleaner lifted the lid of a half-filled toilet tank and discovered the newborn, naked and soaking wet. The poor infant's hands were pale and wrinkled from being submerged. Clearly, she had been abandoned just after birth.
Officials rushed to the spot around 11 a.m. The baby was immediately taken to Sirindhorn Hospital. Initially, doctors described her condition as "critical," but thankfully she recovered quickly and was declared "unharmed." The little fighter weighed nearly six pounds.
A video clip showed the baby resting peacefully at the hospital, swaddled in soft white blankets.
Police Captain Kritsada Saikhong from Lat Krabang Police Station shared, "She was a newborn but there was no sign of the mother." He added, "We will proceed with the investigation to find who left the baby girl in the toilet. Officers are checking CCTV cameras to establish who was in the building and who used the bathroom."
This heartbreaking discovery has pulled the city into action. According to the Thai Penal Code Section 306, abandoning a child can lead to up to three years of jail time and a fine of 6,000 baht (about $185).
What caused this desperate act? Who is the mother? The police are hot on the trail, reviewing CCTV footage to unfold this mystery. Meanwhile, the tiny warrior is safe, bringing hope amid the sadness.
