A 21-year-old man with diabetic ketoacidosis tested positive for Covid-19 in Thane, Maharashtra, and succumbed to the illness. Officials state that his death was due to ketoacidosis, not directly from Covid-19. This marks the fourth Covid-related death in Mumbai this week. Health experts emphasize the presence of severe comorbidities in these cases. The rise in Covid-19 cases has been noted, with a majority of patients exhibiting mild symptoms. Several hospitals in Mumbai have reported Covid-related deaths among patients with underlying health conditions such as kidney disease and cancer. Despite the spike in cases, most patients are experiencing a self-limiting disease, according to infectious diseases specialists. The state government has established a 30-bedded Covid ward at Cama Hospital near CST to cater to the increasing number of cases.
