India Leads the AI Charge: 93% Firms Expect Big Returns, ROI to Double Soon!
November 25, 2025
Indian businesses are dancing in AI delight! According to a fresh report by SAP and Oxford Economics, a whopping 93% of Indian firms expect to see positive returns on their artificial intelligence investments within just three years. This is the highest confidence level across all surveyed countries. The report reveals that Indian companies already enjoy an average AI return on investment (ROI) of 15% in 2025. Even more exciting? This number is set to jump to a dazzling 31% within two years.
Why the buzz? Indian companies are investing big — $31 million this year — surpassing the global average of $26.7 million. This cash flow is focused on software, infrastructure, talent, and expert consulting. And they’re not stopping here! Investments in AI are expected to rise by 33% in the next two years, boosting the AI returns from $5.7 million this year to a whopping $15.3 million soon.
Philipp Herzig, Chief Technology Officer of SAP SE, summed it up, "AI is transforming how businesses operate, not just by automating tasks, but by enabling smarter, faster decisions across mission-critical processes."
The excitement among Indian firms is electric! About 56% of respondents said they are satisfied with the current AI ROI, and 58% believe AI projects deliver positive ROI faster than other tech investments—tops in the world!
What’s the secret sauce? India’s giant pool of AI talent. With over six lakh skilled professionals, India holds 16% of the global AI talent. Sindhu Gangadharan, MD of SAP Labs India and Head of SAP Customer Innovation Services, says, "This depth of digital talent is enabling enterprises to shift from pilots to performance, embedding AI into decisions, operations, and customer experiences."
The eye-opening report is based on a survey of 1,600 senior leaders across eight countries, including 200 from India. Clearly, India’s AI story is not just about numbers — it's about bold moves, big brains, and blazing fast growth. Get ready for an AI revolution, the Indian way!
