On November 10, thousands of PU students marched in a massive rally, even storming the university gates and clashing with security. The fight began against the Central government's sudden decision to restructure PU’s senate and syndicate—key governing bodies of the varsity. The Education Ministry responded by withdrawing the controversial order on November 7 after strong pressure. Yet, the students are not backing down. Their demand now is simple and clear: announce the senate election schedule immediately! Student leaders met the Vice Chancellor, who said the schedule has been sent to the Vice President of India—the chancellor of Panjab University—for approval. Wait or not?
