Daylight Drama in Sydney: Man Shot Dead, Two Held After Police Chase in Blacktown
November 28, 2025
A scary daylight shooting shook the streets of Sydney! On a normal Friday morning at about 11.50am, police rushed to Carinya Street in Blacktown after hearing about a public shooting. Superintendent Brendan Gorman, the area police boss, told reporters, "We located a man in his early 20s with gunshot wounds to his neck, chest, and leg." Despite quick help from ambulance and paramedics, "he passed away at the scene."
The drama didn’t stop there. Cops spotted a Mazda utility car speeding away with two young men inside – one a teenager, the other in his early 20s. Superintendent Gorman said, "That pursuit lasted for approximately five minutes and ended with a short crash, and the pursuit was terminated."
The chase ended when the car crashed on Kildare Road. Both men jumped out and ran, but not for long. Police caught them quickly and took them to Blacktown police station. No charges have been announced yet.
Authorities set up a crime scene and have started digging into what really happened. The homicide squad is helping local detectives with the tricky investigation. While everyone can breathe a little easier, police remind the public to stay away from Blacktown CBD for now.
"At this stage, we don’t believe there are any other people that we’re looking for," said Superintendent Gorman. "We’re actively patrolling the area with many officers to keep everyone safe. We encourage people to tell us about any suspects, and we’ll look into every lead."
This tense incident reminds us how quick safety can be threatened – but also how fast police work to protect the community.
