A terrible tragedy shook Gujarat’s Amreli district on Thursday evening, November 27, 2025. Around 6 p.m., a one-year-old girl lost her life in a savage leopard attack in Trambakpur village. The State Forest Department shared the heartbreaking details on Friday. The girl, daughter of Arjun Ninama, was sitting next to her mother, who was busy cooking in their house. Suddenly, a wild leopard entered the home and dragged the tiny child away. Her mother desperately tried to chase the beast away and even struck it with a utensil, but sadly, her brave efforts failed. The girl’s body was later found near the house, located about 3 kilometers from the famous Amreli Wildlife Sanctuary. According to the Forest Department’s statement from the Dalkhaniya Range, both forest officials and police rushed to the scene and started a thorough investigation. To capture the dangerous leopard, the team has placed seven cages in the area. It’s a race against time to prevent any further attacks. The victim’s father, Arjun Ninama, is originally from Madhya Pradesh and works as a farm laborer in Trambakpur. Shockingly, this is not an isolated tale of wild animal fury in Gujarat. Just a day before, on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, a two-year-old girl was killed by a lioness in Gir Gadhada taluka of Gir Somnath district. Wildlife encounters are turning deadly, raising questions about safety in these regions. The Forest Department continues to work hard to tackle these dangerous incidents and protect villages near wildlife habitats.
