LDF Unveils Ambitious Thrissur Manifesto for Green, Modern and Welfare-Focused City
November 28, 2025
The Left Democratic Front (LDF) is on a mission to transform Thrissur! Their newly released election manifesto is a sparkling roadmap to make Thrissur a shining example of a modern city with a green heart. Launched by CPI(M) State secretary M. V. Govindan on Friday, this plan aims for nothing less than international standards in urban excellence.
LDF’s top goal is to rebuild the city’s core with dazzling infrastructure. The famous Shakthan Market is getting a total makeover to world-class levels, and work has already begun. But that’s not all! The manifesto speaks of cultural, industrial, tourism, and sports corridors that will speed up growth while protecting the city’s rich heritage.
The party also wants a fully modern bus terminal near Shakthan Stand, a smooth elevated highway fitting the master plan, and better parking spots all over town. Their vision includes Kudumbashree’s further growth and to lead Thrissur towards becoming a “poverty-free city.”
In the social arena, LDF promises full support for Accredited Social Health Activists, smart day-care centers with fitness tools, and new resident associations teaming up to improve public life. Thrissur will become a disability-friendly zone with smart waste management spread across neighborhoods.
A standout gem in the manifesto is the pledge for a Gender Park—an exclusive research center focusing on gender issues. Thrissur will also host a lively hub for professionals, drug-free zones with de-addiction centers, and "Thanal" collectives supporting senior citizens in every division.
P. Balachandran MLA, who presided over the event and heads the LDF Corporation Election Committee, said that this manifesto is about shaping the future with sustainability, culture, and welfare at the center. The LDF is ready to lead Thrissur into a bright, green, and prosperous tomorrow!
