Amit Shah Champions Strong Action Against Extremism, Narcotics at Raipur DGP Meet
November 28, 2025
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday, November 28, 2025, spoke passionately about how India's security forces and police are tackling tough problems like extremism, radicalisation, and drugs. According to him, the secret is clear goals, sharp intelligence, and working closely together.
Mr. Shah shared these thoughts while opening the 60th Director General of Police (DGP) Conference in Raipur, a grand three-day event organized by the Intelligence Bureau. The excitement builds as Prime Minister Narendra Modi will join the conference on November 29 and 30.
PM Modi, who arrived in Raipur on Friday night, took to X to share, “After two very special programmes in Karnataka and Goa, landed in Chhattisgarh to take part in the DGP/IGP Conference being held in Raipur. There will be extensive interactions with top officials on ways to strengthen India’s security apparatus.”
This conference, Mr. Shah said, has become a top platform to solve the country’s internal security puzzles—from spotting problems to crafting firm action plans.
He proudly pointed out the powerful steps taken by the Modi Government to wipe out Naxalism. In seven years, 586 strong police stations have been built to protect communities, slashing Naxal-hit districts from 126 in 2014 to just 11 today. What a phenomenal victory!
“The Modi Government has provided permanent solutions to the three major challenges — Naxalism, the North-East, and Jammu & Kashmir. Very soon these regions will become like the rest of the country,” said Mr. Shah, painting a hopeful picture.
He highlighted the Centre’s tough stance on the Popular Front of India (PFI) after banning it and carrying out raids and arrests all over the country. This success was hailed as a perfect example of Centre-State teamwork.
Mr. Shah gave a stirring call to action for the police and law enforcers to wage a “360-degree attack” against drugs and organised crime. He urged states to team up with the Narcotics Control Bureau and deal heavy blows to drug smugglers running at local, national, and international levels. The message was clear - no inch of space for criminals in India!
With top leaders focusing on cutting-edge plans at this power-packed Raipur meet, India’s fight against crime and threat looks stronger than ever.
