A Booth-Level Officer (BLO) Aarti Yadav and Lekhpal Avinash were assaulted during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Salon area. On November 28 evening, while filling voter verification forms in Majre Palhipur village, the village pradhan Deepak Yadav and his father Krishna Yadav allegedly tore the documents. They misbehaved with the officials, who escaped with difficulty. The officials informed higher authorities, leading to Salon Sub-Divisional Magistrate Chandra Prakash visiting the site to speak with locals. Circle Officer Yadvendra Bahadur Pal said, "The village head and his father not only tore government documents but also obstructed official work which is an offence treated seriously under law." A case was registered at Salon Kotwali, and both Deepak Yadav and Krishna Yadav were arrested. Further action is underway amid the statewide electoral roll update drive under SIR.
