Minister for Tourism and Culture Kandula Durgesh and Rajamahendravaram City MP D. Purandeswari announced plans to increase train halts near the event for Godavari Pushkarams-2027. The festival is expected to attract about eight crore people. On Saturday, local officials and public representatives met to review the event preparations. Durgesh urged development of Nidadavolu railway station to allow more trains to stop and ease the rush of devotees. Kovvuru MLA Muppidi Venkateswara Rao also pushed for upgrades at Kovvur and Nidadavolu stations. MLC Somu Veerraju requested adequate funds from Central and State governments for the festival. MP Purandeswari called on all stakeholders to submit detailed proposals to improve infrastructure. District Collector Keerthi Chekuri and other officials attended the meeting to coordinate efforts.
