A husband and wife from Kazakhstan have been arrested for allegedly using a hidden spycam and earpieces to cheat at a Sydney casino. The couple, Dilnoza Israilova, 36, and her husband Alisherykhoja Israilov, 44, reportedly won nearly A$1.2 million (£593,000; $784,000) through dishonest means. Casino staff noticed Mrs Israilova wearing a small camera on her Mickey Mouse T-shirt at a casino in Sydney’s Barangaroo area. Police later searched the couple and found ‘magnetised probes’ and a mirror phone attachment, devices said to be used to rig casino games. The spying devices were linked to their mobile phones, letting them view images of card tables. They also used hidden earpieces to get live instructions on when to place bets. The couple arrived from Kazakhstan in October and applied for casino membership on the same day. Over the following weeks, they made repeated visits to the Crown casino by Sydney’s waterfront and won a total of A$1,179,412.50. Casino staff's suspicions grew until Thursday, when the couple was caught allegedly cheating. Police searched their accommodation near the casino and found more 'gambling props,' expensive jewellery, and €2,000 (£1,750; $2,320) in cash. Both were charged with dishonestly obtaining a financial advantage and denied bail in court on Friday. Mrs Israilova will return to court in February, while Mr Israilov’s next hearing is on 11 December. New South Wales Police said they are not seeking any other suspects linked to this case.
