Two Killed, Three Injured as Bus Crashes Into Parked Lorry on NH 44 in Adilabad

Early Sunday morning, a tragic accident occurred on National Highway 44 near Boath X Roads in Adilabad district. A private bus operated by Abha Travels, heading from Hyderabad to Gorakhpur, crashed into a parked lorry. The incident happened around 5 a.m. The lorry was stationary on the road shoulder because the driver had stopped to sleep. The bus rammed the back of the lorry.
Two people died in the crash. They were Dipson Nishad, aged 4, from Gorakhpur, and Ravi Singh, aged 60. Three other passengers were injured. Among them were Sonu Nishad, 31, and his wife Sarika. They were taken to a nearby hospital and are reported to be stable.
Adilabad SP Akhil Mahajan said the road is often used by vehicles trying to avoid tolls. He added, "In view of frequent accidents here, we are planning to install an RTO and police checkpost to prevent heavy vehicles from using the road."
The bus was carrying 45 passengers when the crash happened. The driver, Govind Prasad Jaiswal, age 50, was found and taken into police custody. A case has been registered, and an investigation is ongoing.
