The districts of Prakasam, SPSR Nellore, and Tirupati are on high alert ahead of cyclone Ditwah. Prakasam Collector P. Rajababu said at a press conference on November 30 that heavy rains are expected on Monday and Tuesday. The district administration is fully prepared. Fourteen mandals in Prakasam, including Kanigiri, Kondapi, and Ongole, may be affected. District Special Officer Yuvaraj held a review meeting and urged fishermen not to go to sea. He also suggested farmers delay paddy harvesting for five days. In SPSR Nellore, Cyclone Special Officer Dr. N. Yuvraj met officials to check preparedness. Key officers like SP Ajitha Vejendla and Joint Collector Mogili Venkateswarlu attended. Tirupati District Collector Dr. S. Venkateswar instructed officials to prepare relief and rehab plans. He held a teleconference with police and revenue officers to plan safety measures. He said, “Barricades should be set up with the help of police in areas where water flow is high to prevent people from crossing.” He also warned that people in low-lying areas must be evacuated and that cattle herders avoid fields due to chances of thunderstorms. "People should stay home," he urged. Electricity, medical teams, and panchayat raj staff are on standby. Control rooms will operate 24/7 for relief work. SP L.
