Sadashivanagar police are searching for an autorickshaw driver who escaped with traffic constable Radhakrishna inside the vehicle after a crash on a one-way street near 10th Cross on Thursday night. The constable tried to stop the autorickshaw for driving the wrong way and hitting a scooter. When Radhakrishna got in to take the driver to the police station, the driver sped off recklessly towards Hebbal. The constable shouted to stop, but the driver ignored him. Radhakrishna's walkie-talkie fell and broke during the chase. The driver abandoned the autorickshaw in Ganganagar and fled. Police later found a dagger hidden under the driver’s seat. The autorickshaw was taken to the station, and a case was filed under Sections 132, 281, and 324 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. In another incident, Constable Madesha K.M. at Palace Guttahalli bus stop was abused and threatened by another autorickshaw driver. Madesha advised the driver, who was rushing with a patient, to slow down and follow lane discipline. The driver reacted with abuses and threats. An FIR has been registered. Police are tracking the accused through the autorickshaw’s registration number.
