TTD Launches Drive to Uniformly Enhance Annaprasadam Quality Across Temples
December 1, 2025
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has started a big project to make food services the same at all temples it manages. On Monday, Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal told officials to keep the quality, hygiene, and taste of 'annaprasadam' matching the famous standards of Tirumala. He held a review meeting where he stressed training kitchen staff and improving the food distribution system. Daily reports on the amount and quality of food must be created. Mr. Singhal also ordered officials to report the numbers of non-Hindu employees working in TTD setups for necessary action. He noted that many historic temples are now under TTD and asked for a full study of priests and Veda experts needed for each. He asked for a detailed Standard Operating Procedure for every temple, to be ready by the next review. Referring to a recent board decision, he asked to rename 'Potu Workers' as 'Mukhya Pachika' or 'Pachika'. He also told the Chief Engineer to boost the Urban Development Cell staffing and prepare an annual calendar of Srinivasa Kalyanams for devotees' planning. Regarding the Lord Venkateswara temple expansion in Venkatapalem, Amaravati, he directed new detailed plans for a Kalyana Mandapam, residential quarters, prakaram, gopurams, and a pushkarini around the 25-acre site. This large effort aims to keep the TTD temples' tradition strong while improving uniformity and infrastructure.
