Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker and former MP K. Raghu Ramakrishna Raju on Monday called for the removal of IPS officer P.V. Sunil Kumar from service. He accused the suspended officer of violating the All India Service Discipline and Appeal Rules of 1969. Raju alleged that Sunil Kumar stoked enmity between groups on caste lines and broke key constitutional duties. In a letter to Rachna Shah, Secretary of the Department of Personnel and Training, Raju said Sunil Kumar created "Ambedkar’s India Mission" (AIM) to spread anti-Hindu propaganda. This, he claimed, caused hatred among different and weaker sections of society. "When I was member of the Lok Sabha, I have submitted his hate speeches and requested for action. But, there is no action till date," Raju said. The AIS Conduct Rules 1968 require officers to maintain integrity, neutrality, and avoid political activities. But Raju said Sunil Kumar's acts are serious misconduct and can attract major penalties. He said, "In view of the gravity, sensitivity and potential constitutional implications on the alleged misbehaviour of the IPS officer, I request the GoI to remove the latter from service."
