The Regiment of Artillery’s recent bravery in Operation Sindoor sets a high standard for the Army’s next generation, said Lieutenant General Adosh Kumar on December 3, 2025. He spoke at the passing out parade of the sixth batch of Agniveers at the Artillery Centre in Hyderabad. 1,624 recruits completed their tough 31-week training. The ceremony began with artillery guns displayed and a parade review by Lt Gen Kumar and Brigadier Rahul Thapliyal. The Agniveers marched in slow and quick time to music led by Subedar Jaipal Yadav. Awards for overall merit went to Sneh Tiwari (1st), Shinde Prashad (2nd), and Nitin Sharma (3rd). Lt Gen Kumar told the new soldiers: "The recent performance of the Regiment of Artillery in Operation Sindoor should serve as an enduring benchmark of courage and professionalism for the Army’s next generation." He highlighted the importance of artillery in every battle since 1947 and said the role in Operation Sindoor reminds all of its critical importance in protecting India. He noted that the nature of warfare is changing fast. "With shifting definitions of conflict and the emergence of new technologies, soldiers would be required to innovate constantly and apply modern techniques on the battlefield," he said. The Agniveers took an oath at the end of the event and are now ready to serve in the Regiment, which can train up to 2,900 recruits at a time.
