The Indian Air Force’s Suryakiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) will perform in Rajkot for the first time. The air show is set over Atal Sarovar on December 6 and 7 from 10 a.m. onwards. This event brings a major aviation spectacle to the people of Saurashtra. SKAT, formed in 1996, is Asia’s only nine-aircraft aerobatic team. They fly Hawk Mk132 jets and perform eye-catching stunts like loops, barrel rolls, and the famous diamond and arrow formations, according to an official release. These moves require close coordination and strict training. The team is led by Group Captain Ajay Dasarathi. The Indian Air Force said the display aims to inspire young people to consider careers in the armed forces. Rajkot will also witness something special for the first time. The Suryakirans will create the Indian tricolour in the sky using coloured smoke from their recently updated aircraft. Residents are invited to gather around Atal Sarovar to enjoy this thrilling two-day aerobatic show.
