In a shocking case, a head constable from Bengaluru Cyber Crime police station is accused of stealing ₹11 lakh from a suspect during interrogation at Bengaluru City Police Headquarters. Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh said an inquiry is ongoing and strict action will be taken. The incident happened on November 30 and surfaced on December 1. The suspect, recently released on bail, had left ₹11 lakh in his vehicle when taken for questioning. After returning home, he noticed the money was missing. CCTV footage showed constable Zabiullah removing a bag from the car. The Central Crime Branch raided the constable’s home and recovered some cash hidden under a bed. Zabiullah also reportedly bought gold jewelry for his wife and tried to block the search. No FIR has been filed and the accused constable has not been arrested as of the latest update on Thursday. This scandal adds to recent police misconduct cases in Bengaluru, including an ATM van robbery and extortion allegations against other officers.
