Chief Justice Bhushan Gavai has made it clear that he will not be taking up any post-retirement assignments once he steps down in November this year. In an exclusive conversation with TOI, Gavai expressed that it is a matter of personal principle for him. He emphasized that his main focus is on addressing the over 81,000 pending cases in the Supreme Court and working towards enhancing the infrastructure in rural courts.
