At least 102 IndiGo flights were cancelled early on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport (KIA). This marks the fourth day of flight disruptions. Airport officials said about 52 arrivals and 50 departures were called off for operational reasons. The cancellations follow IndiGo’s recent notice to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The airline stated flight cuts from December 8 would help reduce ongoing delays and cancellations, which are expected to last two to three more days. On Wednesday, December 4, Bengaluru’s airport saw 99 IndiGo flight cancellations causing travel trouble. In a meeting with DGCA and Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu, IndiGo admitted that “misjudgement and planning gaps” caused the issues. These arose from new rules about pilot rest and night flying introduced on November 1. Across India, over 550 domestic and international IndiGo flights were cancelled. Mumbai faced 85 cancellations, Hyderabad 68, Chennai 31, and Delhi 30, reports PTI. The disruptions have hit major airports hard, showcasing the ongoing challenges of adapting to fresh aviation norms.
