Indian students in the US got important help at an awareness session by the American Telugu Association (ATA) held at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. This event focused on growing challenges like safety, mental health, immigration, and career opportunities after graduation. Notably, this university is the alma mater of Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. The programme was done with help from Indian student groups and had strong student turnout. It featured speakers such as law enforcement officers, immigration attorneys, career counselors, insurance experts, and entrepreneurs. Key sessions included guidance by attorneys from Somireddy Law Firm and the Law Offices of Prashanthi Reddy. They explained CPT and OPT immigration rules and stressed, "Compliance with the norms would help students, and any deviation could lead to problems in the changed circumstances," said ATA Media chair Bhanu Swargam. Industry leaders like CEO Ravi Reddy, SplashBI co-founder Kiran Pasham, and entrepreneur K.K. Reddy gave tips on internships, networking, and building tech careers. Dr. Swarnjit S. Arora, emeritus Economics professor, urged students to embrace cross-cultural learning and improve communication skills for global success. Insurance expert Krishna Rangaraju talked about health and life insurance options available to international students. Police Chief Brian Switala and Lieutenant Alexander Ewend shared safety tips and informed students about university and local emergency resources. The event was led by ATA president Jayanth Challa, secretary Sainath Reddy Boyapalli, and board members Maheedar Muskula, Ven Reddy, R.V. Reddy, and Krishna Rangaraju. The Milwaukee team, including Polireddy Ganta and Karunakar Reddy, helped coordinate and make the event a success.
