The International Cricket Council (ICC) has recently approved changes to playing conditions for men's international cricket, impacting various formats like Tests, ODIs, and T20Is. These changes aim to improve the game's integrity and safety. One of the key changes is the introduction of a stop clock in Tests to address slow-over-rates. In terms of concussion protocols, designated concussion replacements and a seven-day stand-down period for diagnosed players will now be mandatory. Additionally, a new wide-ball rule will be trialled in ODIs and T20Is, offering a leniency to bowlers when batters move around during delivery. The ICC has also relaxed the mandatory ball change rule on saliva usage, leaving the decision to umpires based on the ball's condition. Furthermore, updates have been made to the DRS protocol for secondary reviews and the handling of combined reviews and decisions in chronological order. Changes regarding deliberate short runs, fairness of catches after no-balls, and full-time playing replacements in domestic first-class cricket have also been introduced to enhance the game's fairness.
