A tragic accident took place on Monday morning at Ramudupalem village, Indukuripet mandal, SPSR Nellore district. An APSRTC bus ran over an eleven-year-old boy, killing him instantly, and injured his 14-year-old brother. The incident happened at 8:45 a.m. near Vepachettu Dibba when the brothers were cycling to fix a tire puncture. In confusion near a culvert, the bus driver hit their bicycle, and the rear tyre ran over the younger boy's head. The deceased boy was Puli Kiran, studying in Class 6; his injured brother, Puli Karthik, is in Class 9 at Rangampet Government High School. Police said, "Due to negligence of the bus driver, Puli Kiran (11) died on the spot," and have registered a case under Section 106 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for causing death by rash or negligent act. The bus has been seized for inspection by the Motor Vehicles Department, and the driver is in police custody. After the post-mortem, the boy’s body was handed over to his parents.
