Anantapur Police Arrange Ambulance to Send Woman’s Body to Lepakshi

On December 7, 2025, late at night, Anantapur police helped send the dead body of Venkata Lakshmi, 47, from Anantapur to her home in Lepakshi. Her son, Venkateswarlu, had brought her to the hospital for treatment but could not afford to move her body after she passed away. Venkata Lakshmi was sick for months, and her two sons work as daily wage labourers in Bengaluru to pay for her care. After treatment at Anantapur Government General Hospital, they were heading to their village. Venkateswarlu had consumed alcohol and fell asleep at the railway station. The woman died between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m., but her son only found her dead around 1 a.m. Helpless and without money, he called Dial 100 for help. Police quickly arrived and found him in a difficult situation. Town Inspector Rajendranath Yadav used his own money to hire an ambulance for ₹6,000. Police staff respectfully loaded the body into the ambulance and sent it to Lepakshi. Anantapur Superintendent of Police P. Jagadeesh praised the officers for their quick action and humane kindness.
