Goa Nightclub Fire Owner Saurabh Luthra Offers Support After 25 Die in Blaze
December 8, 2025
Saurabh Luthra, owner of Birch nightclub in Arpora, Goa, expressed profound grief on Instagram over the fire that killed 25 people on December 6. Among the dead were 20 club employees and five tourists, including four from Delhi. Saurabh said the management is deeply shaken and will offer full assistance and support to the families of those affected. Investigations found several safety irregularities, including the lack of a fire department no-objection certificate. The club's small doors and a narrow bridge made it hard to escape, fire officials said. Several club managers have been arrested, while police are searching for the Luthras. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant confirmed a team has gone to Delhi to arrest the owners. Saurabh’s post stated, "In the hour of irreparable sorrow and overwhelming distress, the management stands in unwavering solidarity with the families of the deceased as well as those injured, and conveys its heartfelt condolences with utmost sincerity." He added, "The management further affirms that it shall extend every possible form of assistance, support and cooperation to the bereaved and affected individuals, as they navigate through this period of immense anguish and adversity."
