IndiGo, controlled by Rahul Bhatia, cancelled 562 flights on Monday, December 8, 2025. Bengaluru airport alone saw 150 cancellations. The airline is trying to return to normal after cancelling hundreds of flights since Tuesday, December 2, 2025. On Sunday, December 7, the on-time performance improved to 79.9% while operating 1,650 flights but still cancelling 650. IndiGo cancelled 560 of its 2,300 daily flights from six metro airports on Monday. The total cancellations exceeded the Civil Aviation Ministry's estimate of 500 cancellations and 1,802 flights operated. Sources stated cancellations included 76 arrivals and 74 departures at Bengaluru, 83 departures and 60 arrivals at Delhi. Mumbai saw 98 cancellations (50 arrivals, 48 departures) and Hyderabad 112 (58 arrivals, 54 departures). Kolkata had only 2 cancellations, while Chennai recorded 56. IndiGo operates flights to about 90 domestic and over 40 international airports but has not officially disclosed all cancellation details for the day.
