The Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) conducted joint raids on Thursday, December 11, 2025, in Padgha, Thane district. The raids began early morning in the Bhiwandi area and targeted suspected terror funding sources. Officials said the move follows earlier ATS operations in Borivali village, Padgha. Several residences of suspects were searched. The ED investigated suspicious money transactions, assisted by the ATS. In June 2025, the ATS and Thane rural police searched homes of 22 people, including Saquib Nachan, a former Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) office-bearer, and other suspected sympathizers of the banned group at Borivali, Padgha. They seized 19 mobile phones and documents linked to radicalisation. Two years ago, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) also raided Padgha in terror activity probes. Saquib Nachan, arrested by the NIA, died in June this year at a Delhi hospital.
