Kashmir witnessed a colder night on December 10, 2025, as temperatures dropped sharply across the valley. Srinagar’s night temperature fell by one degree to -2.9°C, which is 2.3° below normal for this season. South Kashmir’s Qazigund recorded a low of -3.2°C, dropping 1.6° from the previous night. Kupwara in North Kashmir was chilling at -4.2°C, while Kokernag dropped to -1.2°C. Pahalgam, the Amarnath Yatra base camp, registered a cold -4.6°C. Meanwhile, Gulmarg saw a slight temperature rise to 0°C. Pulwama and Shopian emerged as the coldest spots in Jammu and Kashmir at -5.2°C each. The meteorological department forecast dry weather until December 12. However, it warned of light snowfall in isolated high-altitude areas of north and central Kashmir from December 13 to 15. Fog, ranging from shallow to moderate, is expected to continue in many parts of the valley in the coming days.
