Chinese national Hu Congtai has been deported to Hong Kong for violating his visa conditions by entering Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir. Officials said he was detained in Srinagar last week and sent to Delhi on December 10 for deportation. Hu Congtai, 29, landed in Delhi on November 19 with a tourist visa allowing visits only to Buddhist religious places like Varanasi, Agra, New Delhi, Jaipur, Sarnath, Gaya, and Kushi Nagar. However, he took a flight to Leh on November 20 and did not register at the Foreigners Regional Registration Office at Leh airport. He was caught when he flew to Srinagar from Delhi on December 1. His deportation was confirmed by officials on December 12.
