Thailand Police Detain Saurabh & Gaurav Luthra Over Goa Nightclub Fire Tragedy
December 11, 2025
Thailand Police detained Saurabh Luthra and his brother Gaurav Luthra for fleeing India after a fire at their Goa nightclub killed 25 people. Officials confirmed the arrest on December 11, 2025. The two were caught in Phuket, Thailand, following an Interpol Blue Corner Notice issued against them at India’s request. Senior officials said India is working to bring the brothers back.
The Luthra brothers booked tickets to Phuket at 1.17 a.m. on December 7, just an hour after learning about the deadly fire at 'Birch by Romeo Lane' in Arpora, North Goa. They left India early that Sunday by an IndiGo flight while police and rescue teams were still fighting the blaze. Goa Police had asked the Central Bureau of Investigation to issue the Blue Corner Notice to catch them.
This arrest marks a critical step in holding those responsible for one of Goa's worst nightclub tragedies accountable.
