The JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSS AHER) held the first Annual India BioImaging Meeting (IBIAM 2025) in Mysuru on Thursday. The two-day event aimed to make Mysuru a leading centre for advanced biological imaging research. Organized with India BioImaging (IBI) and IISER Pune, the meeting gathered experts and managers from 22 major imaging centres across India. Supported by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation, the event focused on building a national plan to improve access to high-end microscopy and standardize training. Delegates discussed ways to enhance networking, resource sharing, and collaboration among Indian imaging facilities. A hands-on workshop on advanced microscopy was held on December 10. It introduced young researchers to technologies like Spinning Disc Confocal Microscopy, 3D Holotomography, and Hybrid Microscopy. The University Sophisticated Instrumentation Centre (USIC) at JSS AHER led the event with support from industry partners. A key highlight was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Euro-BioImaging and India BioImaging. Organizers called this a new phase for India-Europe cooperation in imaging research. H. Basavanna Gowdappa, Vice Chancellor of JSS AHER, and others attended the meeting.
