The Rajya Sabha will continue discussing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) on Friday, December 12, 2025. Union Home Minister Amit Shah said in the Lok Sabha that the government will ‘‘detect, delete and deport’’ every illegal immigrant from India. Replying to Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi’s accusations of vote theft, Mr. Shah called these claims false. He said, “some families” are “generational vote chors (thieves).” He also accused Opposition parties of opposing the SIR because they want to keep “infiltrators” in electoral rolls. On December 11, Rajya Sabha took up electoral reforms, a day after the Lok Sabha debate ended. Delhi’s air pollution was another major concern discussed in both Houses. MP Manickam Tagore, speaking in the Lok Sabha, said, “Delhi is breathing toxic acidic gas. Children are missing school, workers cannot stand outdoors, and hospitals are overflowing with respiratory and cardiac cases. People are not suffering; they are choking. What is the government’s response?” The issue continues to affect millions in the capital as Parliament meets to address vital reforms and environmental crises.
