A retired Indian Air Force personnel was arrested in Assam's Sonitpur district for alleged links with Pakistani intelligence operatives, police said on Saturday (December 13, 2025). Additional Superintendent of Police Haricharan Bhumij said that preliminary investigations showed the accused had shared sensitive documents and information with Pakistani operatives through social media. Police have seized his laptop and mobile phone, which have been sent for forensic examination. However, some data has already been deleted, Mr. Bhumij added. A case has been registered under the relevant sections of the BNS, the officer confirmed.
