SPSR Nellore Speeds Up Land Acquisition for 11 Industries Including BPCL Refinery

SPSR Nellore district is progressing fast in land acquisition for 11 major industries. Collector Himanshu Shukla said land has been acquired for six companies. Land identification is underway for the other five. "We are focusing on the industrialisation of the western region on par with the eastern region," said the Collector. Talks are ongoing with industrialists to set up units in Atmakur and Udayagiri areas. Efforts are also in place for industries in Jaladanki and Duttalur mandals. For the BPCL oil refinery project, out of the 6,000 acres needed, about 3,200 acres have been acquired. The rest will be cleared soon. Mr. Shukla said, "If everything goes well, the foundation stone for BPCL project will be laid in February 2027." The land acquisition for Indosol Solar Private Limited is in full swing as well. The district administration aims to create direct and indirect jobs through these industrial developments. The State Cabinet recently approved land allotment to IFFCO Kisan SEZ after 30 years of delay. Out of 2,772 acres, IFFCO will develop 1,600 acres and government 120 acres. Plans are also underway to hand over the Kovur Sugar Factory to APIIC for industrial use. Mr. Shukla stated, "The State government aims to provide satisfactory compensation to farmers and employees and establish environmentally friendly industries." Kavali is set to become an industrial township with Ramayapatnam Port, Indosol Solar, and BPCL industries expected to start operations within two years.
